>Brace yourselves, Christmas is over and the New Year is almost upon us. That means we will be inundated with diet, fitness, and dating commercials for the next month. Making a change in your life on January 1 is arbitrary. You can change right now or tomorrow. Why wait? Yeah. I know. Humans like clean dates for starting things.
One nice thing, I will see an increase in men on the dating site. This doesn’t necessarily translate into more dates for me, just more possibilities. What I need to do is set a goal because this is the time for goals! 5 messages a month is too low. I need to send out 3 messages a week.
This time, I’ll give you a run down of the men I contact and whether or not they respond. I think my response rate is about 20%. I get one message back for every five I send out. Of course, probably 20% of that 20% turns into an actual date. And yes, I did a scientific calculation to come up with that number…it’s called a guesstimate.
I know I say this every year, but I hope my luck changes. I’m going to try and be more relaxed this year. That’s my mantra for dating this year, “Just relax.” That doesn’t mean I’m just going to sit there and hope some guy finds me. It just means I’m going to try and have more fun. It means I’m going to try and see this dating thing as an adventure instead of a chore.
Who knows? I might even enjoy dating for once. Of course, I could just be like those Facebook people who lie about how great their lives are when they are probably just as, if not more, miserable than me.
