>Welcome to California, Now Go Home

>I remember hearing that slogan when I was growing up. Now there is a survey out that says young people (under 35) are considering moving our of California to find cheaper prices. Find with me. Everyone can leave.

I’ll stay here with the great weather and the beautiful scenery. So what if gas costs as much as my rent, I live 5 minutes away from the beach. I live within a 3 hour drive (if there was no traffic) of the mountains. More people leaving means more room for me. So what if I have to go into mountains of debt just to go to the doctor? So what if the roads suck and the Bay Bridge is one good shake away from a disaster? At least there won’t be miles of traffic if everyone moves out.

There have been stories about the rising cost of everything in California and no one seems to know how to deal with it. All I know is that my salary doesn’t seem to rise as quickly as the cost of everything else.

I, too, remember this slogan growing up in the San Fernando Valley in the 60’s and 70’s. Very popular bumper sticker back then. Love it!
