>I just finished watching Xanadu. The first time I saw it, I loved it. But right now I can’t figure out why. It must have been the music because the story was painfully boring. Plus I was 6 when I saw it last, so my taste has matured a little. I suppose taking almost 25 years to watch it again should have told me something about the caliber of the movie.

The movie is glaringly 80s. It’s great if you want to see what over the top fashions from said decade looked like. But don’t go looking for things like acting or a plot. Ok, there is somewhat of a plot, but not much. Gene Kelly must have needed money pretty bad to have been in this movie. He was the only one in it who could act, which only made the awkwardness of the others that much more transparent.
