>A tenant called today with a question about his lease renewal.
“I received a letter from you along with my leases. Why are you asking me for financial information? I have been a tenant for years and have always made my rent payments on time. Frankly, I don’t think you need this information, so I won’t be sending you any.”
“Hold, please.”
I confer with my coworkers and they say it’s OK to waive the financial check this time.
“Sir, I checked with the Leasing Reps and they said it’s fine to waive the financials this time. I put that language in every cover letter when I send out leases for execution.”
“This is the first time I’ve seen it, but I’ll sign the leases and get them back to you.”
“Move out if you don’t like the policy then!” I yell at the phone.
>Ho snap! The after-phone-call-in-your-face-buddy shout!
>I like that whole “I don’t think you need this information, so I won’t be sending you any”.
Not so funny if you actually have to listen to her but very funny in the retelling 🙂
>The dude was the last straw at the end of a bad day.
