Seriously, my parents will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary this year and have not mentioned a vow renewal ceremony once. In fact, I never remember them mentioning it ever. My grandparents? Same thing. Married for 60 years and not once did they ever even consider such a ceremony.
Now that I think about it, I don’t know anyone in real life who has ever engaged in such an act. I mean wasn’t the first round of pomp enough? Just get to the good stuff and have a party already.
