>Kill Bill, Vols. 1 & 2

>I just finished watching both volumes of Kill Bill. It wasn’t bad, but it did not have to be as long as it was. First of all, what do we care about Lucy Liu’s character? We didn’t learn that much about any other characters’ past, not even the Bride. The cartoon seemed to come completely from left field.

The whole story could have all been done in one movie if 90% of the scenes were cut in half. I mean do we need five minutes of Uma Thurman being buried alive? No, give us two EDITED minutes and we get the point, move the story along.

I didn’t like that dumb bleeping in the first volume so you didn’t know the Bride’s name. It would have been better to WRITE the dialogue so that her name was never said. Or have some appropriate to the scene background noise be too loud so the audience can’t hear what the people were saying when the Bride’s name was said. And why was it said in the second volume? Did I miss the subtle plot twist/literary convention that triggered her name being un-bleeped?

Over all, it was a decent story, it kept my interest to the end. I’m surprised it ended happily. It seemed like everyone was going to be dead at the end. I expected that truth serum to be laced with some sort of poison.

    >LOL! Sorry. I should have posted a warning about spoilers. I just assumed I was one of the last people to not have seen this movie. Next time, I will try to remember that there might be others.
