>I’m going to see Queensryche tomorrow night. I’ve only recently become a casual fan of the ‘Ryche (as my friend calls it). In high school, my then boyfriend was a huge fan. So after he broke up with me, I hated that band because it reminded me of him. Metallica has that designation, too. But as the years and the pain passed, I eventually came to listen to a Queensryche song or two and found myself actually enjoying it, much to my chagrin. Metallica’s music is like white noise, however. It doesn’t really bother me, but if I have a choice I won’t listen to it.
But, getting back to Queensryche, Silent Lucidity still sends me into convulsions. I hated that song in high school and I still hate it now. I do enjoy that song from the Ford Fairlane soundtrack, but I don’t expect them to play it. I thought I read that they were going to be doing the entire Operation: Mindcrime album. Who doesn’t enjoy a good concept album? It’s like going to a musical. Ok, maybe not, but I’m a sucker for a decent story along with some good music.
>If a decent story is what is desired, may I suggest Raymond Carver-What we Talk about when we talk about love-it is truly excellent. Peace
