>Yet another IDIOT. I can’t believe the things this guy said!

“Considering the dire circumstances that we have in New Orleans — virtually a city that has been destroyed — that things are going relatively well,” Brown said.

Oh yeah, people dying of dehydration while waiting for someone to help them out is a sign of things going well!

Michael Brown also agreed with other public officials that the death toll in the city could reach into the thousands.

“Unfortunately, that’s going to be attributable a lot to people who did not heed the advance warnings,” Brown told CNN.

This guy has no sense! How do you move people in hospitals who are fighting for their lives? How do those too poor to buy a car get out of town? If this guy still has a job in the morning, I’ll be amazed. This is the guy who is supposed to be helping these refugees get out of the wasteland that is now the Gulf Coast.

Nevertheless, he said he could “empathize with those in miserable conditions.” This guy is ON CRACK! How can anyone empathize with those refugees? Maybe people from other contries who immigrated from war torn third world countries could understand what these people are going through, but not that guy! Although, maybe Michael Brown is from a war torn third world county. Personally, I don’t consider OKLAHOMA a war torn third world country.

And right now, I’m watching that lame bowtie wearing guy, Tucker Carlson, on MSNBC because I am curious to see how the conservative media is handling this catastorphe. He just said that the authorities in New Orleans have TOLERATED the looting. IS THIS GUY HIGH?!? They haven’t TOLERATED the looting, there’s nothing they can do about it. THEY ARE OVERWHELMED! They are stretched thin because there are not enough people to police the place. They were (and are) trying to save people from drowning or dehydrating since they are marooned.

The things I see on the news are reminiscent of the things from the old new reels of Vietnam. It’s like the fall of Saigon or something! Congress better act quickly because George Bush has had 4 days to get the job started and has SEVERLY screwed up.

I’m just glad that I never voted for George Bush. I hope all of those who did have the balls to feel at least a little guilty after the way he has handled this catastrophe. The aftermath should have been handled ALOT better. We can send BILLIONS to Iraq and aid other countries, but we can’t send in troops and aid to help our own people.

    >You can bet that if the people there were 17 year old blonde white girls there’sd be a much faster response. Everytime a white girl goes missing the whole country stops.

“They should have heeded the evacuation warnings” That could be the most racist thing I’ve heard in a long time.

These people can barely get by day to day when things are going good. It sucks to be poor in a country where the govenment only cares about the rich and middle class.

    FUCKERS!

    >Ya thats true. The reason shit isnt being done for the people left in new orleans is just they are black folk living in the ghetto. No one gives a shit about the people in the ghetto. I used to live in the ghetto and ya know what….my street never got fucking plowed when it would snow, however, everywhere else downtown and in the city got plowed!

But on the flip side, I dont think a lot of people are eager to go down there and try to help these people cuz they are scared for their own safety. I mean they are shooting at cops and their are gangs causing trouble. Just imagine groups of people who ordinarely have hardly any morality and then throw them into a situation where they are free to do whatever they want becuase no one can inforce the law.

    >racism is alive in this country no doubt, and if you’re poor you might as well be dead cuz no one is going to help you.
and bush calls himself a christian. I laugh at that!

    >I think it’s more a class based issue than a racist one. “Fuck the poor”, seems to be the attitude coming from the Bush Administration. Their actions speak louder than their bullshit words. Poor/rich, it doesn’t matter when the situation is life or death.

I don’t think untrained people should be going into the hurricane effected areas. Also, I think alot of the violence and mayhem could have been lessened or avoided had they evacuated the people sooner.
