>I had thought the government reacting to lone crazy people on airplanes like an over-paranoid parent was strictly due to the inadequacies of the Bush administration. The latest security measure by the TSA in reaction to a lone crazy makes me realize there is something inherently wrong with the system.

Maybe changes should be made to the research/investigative side of things instead of making it inconvenient for everyone else to be on a flight. It’s already taxing enough.

Seriously, are we going to just strap people down for the duration of a flight like mental patients? A flight to Las Vegas from Sacramento is only about 90 minutes. Are you telling me for 2/3 of the flight, I can’t get up and go to the restroom? Not that I usually move from my seat because it’s too much hassle to do so, but it’s nice to have the option of movement should I chose to relieve myself from any bodily needs.

As any rational adult knows, there is risk in everything, even the seemingly mundane, boring daily tasks like going to the grocery store or brushing your teeth. You do what you can to prevent bad things from happening, but at some point you just have to play the odds.

I feel like I’ve said this before and will probably say it again.

    >Sorry. I know you travel by air quite a bit. My dad did too in his last job. I never even thought about him being at risk for such things.
