LEGO Houses for adults anyone?

5 Comments on LEGO Houses for adults anyone?

Back in the days when I was a kid, I don’t remember LEGOs being so interesting.  First of all there were no LEGO shops to buy houses. Then again, the last time I remember playing with LEGOs was in 1978ish. This LEGO building set is a pretty good example of the bricks with which I played.  Mostly, I made houses since that’s all my four year old brain could concoct.

Fast forward to this century a few years ago when my then boyfriend (now husband) re-introduced me to the LEGO world.  He’s building what amounts to be an entire city.  That’s right…LEGO houses for adults. He’s very organized about it, probably more so than most municipalities, but that’s another story.

Anyway, he buys LEGO Creator sets like the Family House pictured below, to add to his LEGO city.

LEGO Houses for adults and kids alike

Don’t you just love how the light turns on in this building?? I just love the little touches like that…even the bird. Paul also has the mountain hut, which has a mountain and a bird, the seaside house (yep another bird), the winter village, and the Emerald Express engine.

What’s really interesting about these LEGO sets is that it comes with at least 3 different ways to construct the buildings or train. Of course, if you are smarter than me, you can come up with infinitely more interesting ways to put these together and mix them up.

I can’t wait to see what people come up with in the future. What sets would you like to see?

These are so cool! I grew up in a home without Legos. I only got to play with them at friends’ houses. Looks like I get another shot at playing. I’ll have to check these out. Thanks for sharing.

Happy Sharefest. I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Thanks! You should definitely check them out. Don’t get them at Toys R Us though. They tend to be slightly more expensive there for some reason. Target or if you’re lucky enough to live near a LEGO store are your best bets.
