>I have mixed feelings about the Midtown area of Sacramento.  My fears come from the time spent in San Francisco and it’s parking challenges.  I have flashbacks of continuously circling Columbus Avenue and its various cross streets in search of a place to put my car for what felt like an eternity, but was probably only 10 minutes.  Midtown has some great restaurants and shops, so I try to overcome my fear.  Most of the time, the parking situation is not as bad as I imagine it will be.  I’m also afraid of running into some of the guys I’ve dated, but that could happen anywhere. I would hate to miss out on a good time simply because I was afraid.

Tonight, I went to the SacTweetUp at Zocalo.  I really enjoy that restaurant.  Their tacos are my favorite. Just meat and onions in a tortilla, simple and tasty.  I’m not a fan of cilantro, so I usually pick it off.

Regardless, as I was walking to the joint in the dusky sunlight, I noticed joggers passing me on the sidewalk.  I don’t know why that struck me as odd.  I know people live in the area, but it just seemed random that they would be running down the street for exercise.  That seems like more of an East Sacramento phenomenon.  Married couples and people with families go for a run supposedly for exercise, but I have a theory that they do it because they need to escape.  Midtown feels too hip for joggers.  Midtown is shopping, eating and being seen.  People who live in Midtown don’t need to escape from anything as far as I can tell except maybe a few muggers now and then.
