>How to Not Watch A Pot

>I’m sick of people who are currently married or otherwise in a relationship saying that lame ass platitude, “You’ll find a guy when you least expect it,” or some variation thereof.

OK, Socrates, how the hell does one stop watching the proverbial pot, so it can boil?

I’m just frustrated.  It just seems that I’ve been subjected to quite a bit of rejection lately and I’m not taking it well.  I know I should think more positively.  Dating has always been challenging for me.  I have no freaking clue what to do and feel like someone forgot to include that in my education as a child.  I need to figure out a way to change my mind about it.

    >I pretty much stalked my husband. One night an ex of mine texted me from his friend's phone. The ex and the friend came out that night to where I was hanging out. I thought his friend was good looking and had his life together. Three months later after another throw-away relationship I wanted to see him again, so I searched through my old paper cell phone records to find the number from that night. I called him up, asked if he remembered me and after a few dates, that was that.

So I say: Sometimes you have to be aggressive and possibly a little bit crazy to get what you want. Keep at it. If you sit around at home waiting for a handsome, successful, generous, kind, loving man to fall in your lap, chances are it won't happen. It sucks you've had some bad dates lately, but I hope you keep trying. You're a cool chica. 🙂

    >I like that part in Miss M's comment about having to be "a little bit crazy to get what you want". As if to imply happiness is only experienced by crazy people. It's a nice idea.

    >Cool story, Miss M! Thanks for the advice. I don't want to sit around waiting for a great guy to show up. I'd much rather do something. My problem is that I don't really know what to do.

Don't worry, I might get frustrated, but I won't give up!
