>Well, I’m officially NOT moving. The property managers at the new place called today saying that I would have to pay over $900 for an additional deposit in order to be approved for the lease. They said my credit wasn’t stellar enough (which is not entirely true) and that I was missing paperwork. Plus they didn’t have an address on file to send me a copy of the credit report.

What they couldn’t tell me was why they didn’t notify me of this issue three weeks ago when they called to verify my move in date? Or two weeks ago when they told me about the construction delays? Or why the message was left on my work number at 5:45 pm on a Friday night? They have my cell number and my voicemail at work has my cell number on the outgoing message.

Then they tell me that my current property managers wouldn’t release any rental history info until they received a notice from me that I was going to move out. I had signed a document stating that the new property managers had permission to obtain said info. That is enough. Why would anyone give notice at their old apartment complex if they haven’t been approved at a new one? The thing is I had given notice (twice in fact) because I thought I had been approved. This is when I started to get angry and to suspect that something else might be afoot.

So, I asked the gal if getting my rental history (which is stellar) would change the deposit back to what I had agreed on. She said NO. That was when I demanded my money back. I wasn’t going to jump through hoops and not get the terms I agreed to.

Miraculously, my current address on appeared in their file when the gal verified where to send my money. Wouldn’t that be the same place to send a credit report? Either the people running that joint are idiots or they are doing something less than ethical. All I know is that I better get my money back after the crap they put me through.
