Is it just me or do the kids today start school too damn early?
One of my cousins started high school this week. What happened to starting the week of Labor Day? Apparently students now get a shit load of days off during the school year, so in order to make up for it they start even before your sunburn from the 4th of July BBQ has begun to fade.
And what’s with the teacher in service days? What the hell are they training the teachers about now? Aside from an increase in history and technology, what else could they possibly need to know? Isn’t school pretty much the same curriculum it’s been for the last 50 years?
I pretty much always despised school. I was eternally bored and longed to do anything else. The only thing that even piqued my interest was the boys. I always had a crush on someone and of course, he never knew it. I was painfully shy and wouldn’t even speak to my crush. Furtive glances in his general direction kept me entertained while the teacher droned on about some long dead author or byzantine mathematical equations.
Hmm. Maybe I should take a college class just so I can relive the days when I had a new crush every semester.
So, did anyone else get that Grease 2 reference in my post’s title?
>Not only did I get the G2 reference, but I now have that song in my head.
So, you know, thanks for that.
>Sorry! It's permanently stuck in my head too.
>As soon as I read the title I had the song going through my head. But better that one than some of those other gems from Grease 2. "Let's Do It for Our Country", for example. *shudders*
>I hate that song! When they are down in the bomb shelter…how lame can that chick get?
