Foolishly, I attempted to find a Thanksgiving themed cookie cutter last weekend. When I asked the gal at the store if they had such and item, she looked at me like I was speaking gibberish. I only know a little gibberish and only need it at work, but that’s besides the point.
Yes, I have started listening to some Christmas music and I have begun to wonder when the Charlie Brown special will be on, but I still feel like it all came so quickly. The saying goes that time flies when you are having fun, but time also flies when you are busy as hell. Not that I’m complaining. Being busy is better than any anti-depressant.
This year, I’m trying not to focus on the negative side of the holidays. I want to enjoy each moment I can. I want to remember the scent of warm pumpkin pie wafting out of the kitchen. I want to remember listening to my nephew get excited about what Santa Claus might bring him. I want to remember chatting with my sister and my mom about nothing in particular.
