> Seriously, I saw this book at Target today. I almost bought it for the train wreck value of it (or should I say car wreck). Barnes & Noble even has it on sale if you really are desparate to get a last minute gift.

Who the hell is reading this book? Plus, there is an entire LIBRARY of books of the romance genre whose stories center around NASCAR. Just when you thought romance novels could go no lower, someone comes up with a NASCAR romance novel.

    >Yeah. It picks up where “Left Turn for Love” left off.

Even Nicole Richie thinks this is a bad novel.

Seriously, I don’t know which is worse–that this sort of crap gets published, or that it took THREE AUTHORS to write it.

Three authors? Why? Was it because it sucks so much that the first two were pulled into the monitors by the sheer vaccuum force of the dreck they were committing to the page?

When I was teaching, I would reject out of hand any textbook that had more than three authors. I preferred books with two or one author, because even at this low literary stage, the books tended to be more compromise than instruction. I can’t imagine how bad a three-authored novel must be.

I can’t imagine the human who would read anything like that.

    >That book is invaluable to me in my relentless pursuit of holiday cheer. The beginning starts like this: “Desperately crouched at the starting line. Engines pumping and thumping in time. The green light flashes, the flags go up. Churning and burning, they yearn for the cup.”
