Finally, it’s spring time! In Minnesota that means a bunch of really interesting events are about to spring up. Get it? Sorry, the crazy winter has made me loopy.
Anyway, one such happening is the HAMMS Event. It’s a one day market that features local and micro merchants. Formally, it’s called HAMMS – Help a Minnesota Maker Succeed. It’s not your typical artisan market. This event has a bit of a twist to it. One lucky Minnesota Maker will receive up to $5,000 of the ticket sales from the event. It’s part crowd funding and part market according to the website.
What’s at the HAMMS Event?
While I did not go to last year’s event because I had just barely moved to Minnesota, this year’s event seems very intriguing. Not only do they have artisan cosmetics and handmade hats, but there are also pet inspired vendors. People are encouraged to bring their dogs to the HAMMS event.
Of course, there will be food trucks too. Since moving to Minnesota, I haven’t really had the opportunity to check out many food trucks. It’s really my own laziness that has kept me from trying them…that and the overwhelming number of them compared to where I used to live. So many choices!
